Description

OPPO Reno 6 is a perfect example of how OPPO has suddenly become a powerhouse player in the mobile market. This new device is not just your typical flagship smartphone offering but is also more affordable than its rivals.

For this reason, it has garnered a lot of attention from consumers and the media alike. Only time will tell how well it’ll perform, but it’s clear that OPPO has set its sights on competing with the best in the business. Launched on 2021, May 27, the Reno 6 stands apart from its bigger sibling and the smartphone industry competition

Display and Camera

The Reno6 5G is the junior version in Oppo’s Reno6 range, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, 8GB RAM & 128GB of internal storage. Images can be seen and composed using a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution.

The rear camera amalgamates a 64 MP primary module with an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP macro lens. You can record 4K footage at 30 fps or Full-HD at up to 60 fps in video mode.

While capturing images, the camera typically produces good exposures as long as you don’t capture in very low light, but exposure is not stable across consecutive shots, and tone compression can be seen in shots of high-contrast scenes. Colors look usually desiderated, and color rendering can be a little inaccurate, yet on the plus side, the autofocus generally works reliably in all conditions.

Processor and Performance

Despite the drop in power in comparison to the Reno 6 Pro, the SoC in the Oppo Reno 6 is still robust enough to handle daily activities and games at the Full-HD+ resolution. You’ll never notice any slowdowns during multitasking, and the 90Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and effortless scrolling in menus and apps. Benchmark scores are pretty solid too. The phone hardly gets warm during regular use, which usually includes using social apps and watching videos for a long time.

Storage and Connectivity

The OPPO Reno 6 is a smartphone with a great deal going for it. Its battery life is exceptional, and it offers a unique sliding design that adds to the phone’s overall appeal. The Reno 6 is powered by Android 8.1, has an octa-core processor, and front-facing speakers in addition to its fantastic battery life.

It also comes with several connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, and 4G LTE. You can also choose your storage option depending on how much memory you want to fit into your phone.
